Vila Nova de Milfontes: a lunch by the river

I said I wouldn't be long. Once again I went to the Alentejo, this time to the coast, Odemira, just over an hour from home: Vila Nova de Milfontes.

In the summer they are already many tourists visiting this location of the Parque Natural do Sudoeste Alentejano e Costa Vicentina, but the scenery in the winter months is quite different and no less beautiful. Just quiet.

We were looking for a restaurant for lunch already late. We ended up deciding to try the Quebra, Bar & Kitchen, a beach bar restaurant, with a clear view of the River Mira and a perfect terrace to enjoy the winter sun.

Besides the friendliness of the staff who served us, what surprised me the most was the food. Let's see: no one expects to eat one of the best curry dishes in the Alentejo, right? Well, that's what happened. The chef's Thai curry is simply divine and even better accompanied by a mojito... Of course I was already full but still had room for dessert... despite having tasted the brownie, which made my meal finishing in beauty was the red fruit crumble.

This was followed by the usual short coffee and it was time to return, surprised by this lunch that was so unexpected that it became a memory - and a full stomach, of course, or I would not be in the Alentejo.
