Alentejo is one of the best places in Portugal for those seeking tranquility. While in the summer (almost) everyone is looking for the Algarve to spend their holidays, there are also those who want to relax away from the hustle and animation of the South. In Alentejo, this isn't difficult and there is also the fact that the gastronomy of Alentejo is one of the richest, as is the wine.
Invited by Nelson Carvalheiro and Emanuele Siracusa, we went to know the Alqueva floating house.
The access is made by boat from Amieira Marina - about 60 kilometers from Beja and 30 from Moura. This refuge, away from all eyes, has all the essential facilities. The walls are replaced by glass and the alarm clock by the sun rays or simply by the sound of nature.

The sunset seen from the deck of this boat-house is phenomenal and, if the heat squeezes, it is also possible to dive directly into the Alqueva. On the contrary, in winter, if it is the cold to bother, there is a salamander available to solve the problem.
For those looking for alternative sites without giving up the beauty of nature, this is definitely a place to consider.
