Tróia: the modern paradise

It has been on my list for some time: visiting Tróia, a small town in the district of Grândola, Alentejo, but less than an hour from Lisbon, if we take the ferry that connects Tróia and Setúbal.

At the time of my visit, in early fall, the bustle of the turists had passed and the short time I was here was to relax but with enough heat during the day.

Included in Sado Estuary Natural Reserve, Tróia is a perfect place to relax and connect with nature. Even if the weather doesn't allow swimming on the beach, the place invites us to take a walk around the area and feel the environment, away from the hustle and pollution, or to observe more than 200 species of birds that live around here.

On the other hand, there are also several hotels, most of them luxury, bars, restaurants and a casino, in the marina area. The only thing that disturbs the landscape is the fact that some buildings are too high for the area where they are inserted...

In my short getaway I stayed in the Tróia Design Hotel (5*), a super modern hotel with a very varied breakfast, swimming pool and free parking for guests. The room was very spacious (well, actually only the room should be bigger than my living room...), just like the bathroom. It also had a balcony with a nice view, a small kitchnette (I could have a sudden desire to cook until the morning...) and one (this is important) Nespresso machine, for those who don't dispense their coffee upon waking.

I'm already thinking about the next visit. Who knows, a little further north...
