The Festival Med took place on June 30, July 1 and 2, in Loulé. It's easy to get lost in the old alleyways of the historic center of this Algarve city that is filled with world music and handicrafts, and even the Portugal-Poland game didn't crowd the audience on the first day of the event, there were televisions all over the place and people had fun between football and music. But everything went well for the Portuguese selection and the party became even more fun, although with some delays in the concerts, and neither António Zambujo stopped celebrating, since the game still continued when it began his spectacle that, as always, didn't disappointed and delighted those who were present with their most and least recent hits.
The second day of the festival featured a greater influx of people. And of all ages - which is something not always possible at most festivals. The Moroccan Hindi Zahra said goodbye in Portuguese at the end of her show and the Chilean Ana Tijoux and the French Danakil were among the most entertaining of the audience. Then Capicua, who was going to act the next day, surprised the audience and appeared in the concert of Emicida.
The third and final day of the 13th edition of the Festival Med also had a large crowd from the Algarve and from all over the world: there were many Spanish at the place, in a summer night characteristic of the South of Portugal.Tinariwen, from Mali, as well as a great spectacle, gave those present a true cultural experience which is, after all, what it claims to be the Med. The concert of Capicua was the one that most attracted the people that night: the stage was completely full and many people heard it from outside the space where she acted. The end of the night was one of the liveliest on Matriz stage, with performances by Danes/Norwegians/Americans Alo Wala and Rocky Marsiano.
The party continued all night long and the event is sure to return in 2017 for another unforgettable musical and cultural experience. See you next year Festival Med!
